Why do this?

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.


Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Action Saturday, October 19 Headlined by Battle Between Former UFC Stars “Bigfoot” Silva & Gabriel Gonzaga from Florida State Fairgrounds Entertainment Hall in Tampa, Fla. & Live on Pay-Per-View

A star-studded night of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) action will feature special guest appearances from MMA legends Wanderlei Silva, Fabricio Werdum and Anthony “Rumble” Johnson in an event headlined by former UFC stars Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Gabriel Gonzaga going toe-to-toe Saturday, October 19 live on pay-per-view from Florida State Fairgrounds Entertainment Hall in Tampa, Fla.

BKFC 8 will be broadcast across the United States and Canada, exclusively on pay-per-view through MultiVision Media, Inc., on all major television distribution outlets for $29.99. It will also be available to BKFC’s international broadcast partners worldwide and via stream to all in-home and out-of-home connected devices through FITE.

The October 19 event will bring out MMA stars looking to make sure they don’t miss any of the bare knuckle showdowns headlined by two heavyweight stars sure to deliver action. “I’ve been hooked on Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship ever since I first saw it,” said Silva. “I can’t wait to be in attendance on October 19!”

“I am excited to be a guest of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, but I’m even more excited to see Silva vs Gonzaga,” said Werdum. “I can feel it. It will be an explosive night in Tampa and I cannot wait.”

Tickets for the live event are on sale exclusively at Florida will be hosting its’ second BKFC event of 2019, after previously holding the blockbuster BKFC 6 event headlined by Paulie Malignaggi vs. Artem Lobov in June.

One of the most popular MMA stars on the planet, Silva competed in Japan’s PRIDE Fighting Championships and UFC amassing 35 professional wins, 28 of which came by way of stoppage. Nicknamed “The Axe Murderer,” the former PRIDE middleweight champion holds the record for the most wins in PRIDE history with 22. He also holds the PRIDE records for the most knockouts, title defenses and longest winning streak. Silva went on to compete 12 times in the UFC, including once for the UFC light heavyweight championship.

Werdum is a decorated former UFC heavyweight champion. Highly regarded as one of the best heavyweight fighters of all time, he’s known as one of the best grapplers and submission specialists in MMA history. Werdum tallied 22 professional MMA victories, 17 coming by stoppage.

A former top-ranked light heavyweight contender in UFC who competed twice for the UFC light heavyweight title, Johnson was well known for his intimidating presence inside the octagon. Johnson’s brutal power resulted in 16 of his 22 professional MMA wins coming by way of knockout.
